A very different season has finally come to an end. As a club we’d like to thank everyone at the club, both on and off the field, from the Seniors and Youth down to the Juniors and Minis, for their efforts in restarting rugby this season and dealing with the effects of Covid. We appreciated that it was a difficult, stop start year. We look forward to seeing you next season.

This was a hard fought match. Despite having a number of players missing the team in general played well. It was nice to see Steve Parkin making a return to rugby. Match report
Although we won, 36-24, with a bonus point to keep the promotion drive going, yet again Baglan did not field a front row against us. A number of supporters are questioning whether this is a genuine problem, or a deliberate tactic. This is especially true if you take into account the comments of some of the Baglan supporters post match. Perhaps the WRU should look into this. Match report

The 2nd XV played their first game for a few seasons on Wednesday 12/09/2012 away at the Amman. They eventually lost 28-7, despite leading 7 nil at half time. However, they ghave started up again, and anyone interested in playing or helping, please contact the coaching team, or the committee.

The League starts with a home game against Crynant. Cwmgors won both fixtures last season. Crynant did finish 4th in the table, one place behind us, so it could be a close game.
Two pre-season friendly matches have been played, both at home. Against Pontardawe on 08/08/2012, the match was abandoned due to an injury to a Pontardawe player in the third session. The score was 10 pts to 5 to Pontardawe at the time. Againat Birchgrove on 23/08/2012 Cwmgors won 17pts to 7.
Congratulations to the Cwgors 7s squad on reaching the semi-final of the Shield competition. Cwmgors were second in their pool. After losing their first pool match to eventual winner Trebanos, they then went on to beat Brynaman, Pontardawe and Alltwen. They lost in the semi-final to Cwmavon.
